Hello fellow i600 users:

Samsung just started providing WM6 FREE upgrade.
Currently there are only 2 countries/languages available but other will follow (UK).

I think the Asian i600s are the same as the UK i600s.
If you check the manual (in my case) the website used is samsung.co.uk.
so... it could be the same unit, not sure if the philippine operator is included on the auto-config. let's wait...

I just read some post at modaco regarding the upgrade using a different country. You download the update, change the country on your phone for the update to work. They said may english version daw yung Nordic update. Kaya lang kakatakot baka di ma-recognize yung operator dito sa pinas *@#$ brick na ang i600 ko! at least slim na brick

Many notice na same lang yung file na dina-download nila from different countries. I think Samsung is updating the same file. Parang universal update pag natapos na yung updates.

I will wait for the UK update na lang.... sabi kasi may asian countries na kasama sa UK version ng upgrade.

Let's just hope for the best!

I email Samsung about the upgrade to WM6:

Philippines doesn’t have upgrade of windows mobile 6 for I600 because it

for I600 released in the Philippines is different from other countries

i believe we should not just sit here and wait for samsung guys to tell us that WM6 imay damage our i600. why should it be different such that it may die? if i could i ask them something like... would installing windows xp on a windows 2000 machine really damage the computer? many already upgraded to windows xp but i dont think much of those who failed to upgrade broke their computer that their computer manufacturer would warn them it may damage their PC. our samsung sgh-i600 is not that different.. the price range is the same. the hardware is the same. and definitely the name is the same in different countries. only network connection config isnt. which is editable from the settings. i think we should start telling them to work on it. common sense tells me na baka tinatamad lang sila.
