This has been announced a long time a ago. The latest WinMo version will be geared towards to more touch-friendly territories...

So what do you think? Innovation or just simply playing catch up? Rolling Eyes Wink

Simply catching up, sadly. They should be the trend setters, they were very complacent lately kaya naunahan tuloy sa innovation. Sad

Well, Microsoft has never really been known as main innovator of sorts. What they did with Windows was dominate the market through massive marketing and putting features together, not really through massive innovations

Im glad that the new MW7 will use a camera instead of gyroscopes. This will mean significantly cheaper manufacturing costs for the phone, as even older hardware designs might be able to run it Smile

With iPhone's "cheaper" cost [kuno] I hope they roll out Windows Mobile 7 Handsets with reasonable price. The market will be flooded by smartphones by then with Google's Android platform to make the competition messy. Very Happy

I wouldn't bet on the 3G iphone to be cheap unless Globe lowers their price tag. A member of Philmug based in hongkong will be selling it in the Php 50K range.

well that is only the unit apple price but since its being sold by mobile phone operators around the globe the price could go up as 40k. Its still in the hands of these operators on what will be the price..
Im expecting that globe might offer this in their high plans when then launch it here..

After nearly a year. Windows Mobile 6.5 is still evolving. As hardware evolves, so should the OS.

I just hope Microsoft listens well on this one. Since most devices will be phone capable devices, then they should really put the phone part as a big priority.

One problem I see now is the use these hard screens. They are mostly used flush with the front bezel of the devices. Yes, they look sleek... but this also increases the chances of hitting the on screen buttons unintentionally. Just imagine ending a call because you pressed your device a little to firmly against your cheek. Worse, how about initiating a second call because you got a little over excited talking with someone.

These flush touch screens have to be locked and on screen controls have to be managed because they will definitely be sensitive to any form of pressure.
