Hmm.. if you don't do much surfing using cell network and doesn't do video call, choose GSM band only. Set your device to automatically turn off after a min and choose lower backlight settings. Needless to say, turn off your Wifi when not in use. See if these tips would help.

It is also possible that your phone is spending a lot of time (power) trying to handshake with a cell site. This usually happens when, for example, inside a room in your house where the signal is very weak. You would notice that the signal icon on your phone shows an exclamation point or a few dots, instead of bars.

I'm using Schaps 4.31 radio is 1.48.00.10

I do have the 3G icon on top of the screen.

Most of the time I just do texting on the phone.
No video calls or surfing nor bluetooth.

@Jaycee

Is there a timer setting for 3G? All I know is just turn it on/off. How do I do that?

@Robert

I only see that when I turn on the phone.Once its up and running the signal strength is steady.

--------------------------------

Do you think I should change my radio to 1.48.00.??
Or revert my Tytn to the original Window mobile 6

BTW thanks for the feedbacks

Tap the Signal indicator>>Settings>> Choose Band tab>> Drop down Choose Network type and select GSM then Ok.

For the Timer as to when the device is to be turned off automatically, just tinker the Power settings as to how many minutes or seconds you want it to turn off. Even the backlight, you can also slide the slider to lower settings.

You won't be able to do videocall nor get hsdpa speed on GSM mode but you can still receive MMS. If you want to browse using cellular network, you have to switch back to auto.

Is their a more "Power tipid" ROM than Schaps 4.31? I like the kaiser format of schaps (big digi clock).

Radio rom I used was the 1.48 and 1.54 battery are only good for a day.

I'm using smart network.
