The battery is ok. I think because its working off of two signals so...I usually get about 24 hours or usage before it shuts downs on me. The casing is nice and sturdy, but a bit slippery for my taste. To ensure I dont drop it I just bought a wrist strap for me and a neck one for my husband. The one at xsite is a glofiish one. They actually have several different glofiish models avail there.

hi maam,

i have some questions if you dont mind.

how's the voice quality on phone 1 & phone 2?
my hkc g1000 had a poor voice quality on phone 1.

when you send/receive sms, would you know if it is for sim1 or sim2?

how's the wifi signal? does it connect immediately?

how's the internet browsing speed when connecting thru your telecom sim? phone1 should be faster as it is 3G while phone2 is not 3G.

what's the maximum memory supported?

regards,

francis

Starting Feb. 17, Glofiish will be known as ACER as announced at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.

For more info:

http://www.gsmarena.com/acer_gets_into_smartphones_with_m900_f900_x960_and_dx900-news-803.php

Acer (glofiish) has initially released the DX900 last December 2008 at an SRP of P29,990.00. Also released was the single sim X610 at an SRP of P19,990.00 for users who would want to switch to WinMo or is looking for a second device with smartphone capabilitites.

Aside from Xsite, it is also available in Electronics Boutique, Memo Express, Globotel and Complink/E-Hub outlets.

It is being distributed by Topstrasse Global Inc. (TGI).

Just wanted to share my bad experience with the DX900 internal GPS. The GPS worked ok initially then intermittently.

After searching the DX900 forums I found this thread http://eten-users.eu/index.php?showtopic=16923&st=0&p=106883&#entry106883

Here is the default setting for the GPS:

GPS Program port: COM2

GPS Hardware port: COM4

Baud rate: 57600

Access: Set flag in "Manage GPS automatically"

If it doesn't work. Try to install the patch GPS_Patch.zip (can be downloaded from the thread site). My DX900 internal GPS now works every time. I am using Google maps.

Browsing at the gsmarena.com, why are there difference in the specs of the Acer version vs those of Glofiish?

Xcite is selling at P26.5k for cash and P29,900 for credit card? WOW!

what differences did you notice?

29,900 is actually 12 months to pay at 0% interest.

Found something!
I use Globe in Sim1 and Att in Sim2. Ok, so when I use Att text to the states of course no problems. But use Globe text to the states and it sends upside down question marks. Switch Sim1 and 2, still same problem. Tried a different Globe Sim, same problem. Tried with Sun same problem. Use those same sims in an iphone and the message is deilvered normally to the states.

Help?

Is it just the question mark that is being sent upside down? Could be a rom bug problem.

new rom: http://www.etencorp.com/Support/downloadfile/rom/200903051603071236240135.exe

remove sd card first when updating the rom.

just read this from somewhere... update at your own risk.
have no dx900 to update Sad

Glad to know there are DX900 users sa pinas.

I'm seriously thinking of getting one but need just a tad more convincing.

How is the processing power? I've been using a Hermes for over a year and i would say its not the fastest WM out there. The processor on the DX900 is also a Samsung which aint no Intel or OMAP when matched in Mhz.

Is the screen glass or plastic?

how often do they release rom updates? The more frequent, the bigger the chance of WM6.5
