Mobile version of forums now up.

The mobile friendly version of the PinoyWindowsMobile forum is now accessible. So far, it is still in its most basic form but it allows you to post new messages as well as reply to them with a simplified interface.

This is a 'lite' version that strips the forum of all fancy graphics and extra functions leaving simply the essentials needed. There will still be some improvements with the mobile version maybe extending it to a more colorful site instead of a plain blank white forum. I will try to implement the same changes for the portal as well.

There is no need to enter a different URL as this site autodetects your device and automatically switches you to a mobile firendly version. Of course that being a Windows CE device.

It's still in its bare form. I'm working on some templates to add a little more color and probably move some buttons to where they should be... like the login/logout button should be placed at the top of the forum instead of the bottom...

I'm using a XDAIIi WM2003SE and it seems like my device is not being recognized as a CE device. The screen is still the big PC based screen that I have to scroll left and right.

Does this feaure apply only to Windows Mobile 5?

While I was fixing the mobile tag issue that showed up after the upgrade, I decided to fix some things in the mobile version too...

You can now navigate from the Forum or the Topic, and go straight to the Forum Index. I also made the edit and quote icons smaller.

Another small update to the site...

I couldn't stop myself from upgrading the mobile version of the site a bit. Just in time for Wi-Fi Nation and to make it easier for Pocket PC or Smartphone users to access PinoyWindowsMobile.net, I added a new page to the mobile version. You can now see the latest 15 posts like the one on the desktop version.

This is currently the mobile home page of PinoyWindowsMobile.

Why not give it a try...

Actually meron pa akong kailangang ayusin.

I still have to match the forum section navigation to the home page.

I hope the 15 latest posts are enough for you guys, I wanted to add the 10 news items but I kinda feel that it's redundant if they appear as well on the latest 15 posts (when newly posted).

Why 15? Okay I hope no one asks for more... because that is how it is set up in the desktop homepage. If I change it in the mobile version, it will change the desktop version as well. What the mobile version does is simply strip away the unnecessary stuff to keep the downloads smooth and quick.

imho, your revision is more advantageous when using gprs, edge or 3g esp with globe where charge rate is on a per kb basis.
