|MSI's latest Netbook flagship sports a dual-core processor but lacks some bite.
The latest MSI Netbook flagship, the U160DC (B123) equipped with an Atom N455 dual-core processor stands true with its claim that it redefines the speed of light. Equipped with MSI's TDE (Turbo Drive Engine) technology, it allows the CPU frequency to be increased to achieve better performance.
The Wind U160DC (B123) also comes with a 2GB DDR3 memory module and a 250GB HDD. It is equipped with a 1.3MP webcam, an SD card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port, and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi module. Its 6-cell battery pack allows you to enjoy true untethered mobility.
The downside is, this model, although currently occupying the flagship spot of the 10-inch Wind series is lacking a tooth... bluetooth to be exact. When I asked the sales rep at the MSI concept store, the answer I got was that it was optional. So I proceeded to ask. "Can I have one with Bluetooth?" The sad reply I got was that what he meant by optional was for me to have the option to buy a USB Bluetooth dongle.
That for me does not equate to "optional." He was selling me an accessory. I want one with built-in Bluetooth like the other top-of-the-line Netbooks from the other manufacturers.
Hopefully we see a Bluetooth equipped U160DC here in the future.
The U160DC (B123) comes standard with Genuine Windows 7 Starter and Office Starter 2010. It retails for Php 21,995.00.
